One word takes us to the cross. After enduring crucifixion and fulfilling the Scriptures, Jesus declared, “It is finished!” before giving up His spirit. Tetelestai is the Greek word behind that declaration in John 19:30. He had completed the saving work the Father sent Him to do, offering Himself for our sins.
